About Us

Since 1995, the owners of Sheffield Way Farm have been involved in the equine community and in 2009, Sheffield Way Farm started its roots here in Exeter, Rhode Island. Off the beaten path, we have an incredible team of seasoned horse people, who provide excellent care and services to our clients, students, and boarders.

Our instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and focused on each individual student's specific goals. All skill levels are welcome, and we pride ourselves in helping our students to grow and exceed even their own expectations.
Meet Our Team
Jennifer Hunt
Co-Owner/Trainer

Jennifer Hunt has been involved with and loving horses since she was four years old. Growing up on 100 Acre Cove in Barrington, she convinced her parents, at the age of ten, to let her have her own pony! The deal was that she had to pay for the pony and all of its needs. Well, Jennifer quahogged every day (what else do you do when you live on a saltwater cove), and she sold quahogs to pay for her first pony, Peanut. The rest is history.
An avid 4-H member, she has competed at the national level Horse Bowl, Public Speaking, and Horse Judging, placing in the top 5 in the country in all three categories. Another passion of Jennifer's is working with those with developmental disabilities. For over 10 years, Jennifer worked in numerous group homes and day programs throughout Rhode Island. In no time, Jennifer had horses involved as she believes wholeheartedly in the benefits they provide to her clients. It has always been important that Sheffield continue this work by offering an inclusive place for those who love horses.
Jennifer was not drawn to the horse show world as passionately as others, although she competed successfully for many years. She was, and still is, incredibly passionate about teaching! Her love and drive are being in the ring, out on a trail, in the aisle of the barn, or really anywhere... and teaching. For 30 years, Jennifer has worked with those young and old, new students and past, all levels with all ranges of goals! Connecting horse and human, watching them both learn and grow, building confidence and overcoming obstacles in and out of the ring; this is what she loves. Jennife's love of teaching has touched hundreds of students- many of whom have gone on to start successful farms of their own!
Lindsey Paradis
Barn Manager/Trainer

Lindsey has had a love for horses her whole life, and what started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Early on, she found a love for thoroughbreds and competing in the hunter under saddle. She thanks her horse, “Ellie,” for that, whom she now leases out so she can give others the same opportunities she gave Lindsey.
Since then, Lindsey has ventured on to the breed and miniature shows, which have become a huge love of hers. Lindsey has dedicated her career to helping both horses and riders reach their full potential. Lindsey can be found at SWF tending to anything that needs her attention and putting the horses' care first.
